Farrah Facett, the blonde-maned actress whose best-selling poster and “Charlie’s Angels” stardom made her one of the most famous faces in the world, was checked into an LA hospital in early April and had been battling anal caner for three years. On June 26, 2009, the glamour girl passed away at age 62.

Farah Fawcett was so much more than a woman with a pretty face and healthy head of hair, but there’s nothing wrong with being remembered as one of the most beautiful women in history. Her hairstyle, first made famous in the Seventies with Charlie’s Angels, will forever be known as the “Farrah”. Even today, you can put a modern twist on the style and make it your own.

The famous poster of her posing in a red bathing suit broke records and sold millions, making her an international sex symbol. Her dark blonde feathered hair made millions for hairstylists around the world who emulated her style for the young women of the 70s and 80s. Women these days are fans of hair straighteners and smoothing serum but in the 70s, Farrah, who never appeared to have a problem with thinning hair, wanted her long, one-length hair to look fuller.

With the passing of Farrah Fawcett, there will be endless references to her beauty, to her smile and hair and the figure so famously captured in a poster. But there is much more to this woman than the surface assets that fueled her celebrity. She will always be remembered as not only one of the most beautiful women in the world, but for her strength and courage.
